Veterans of H-2 Iceland 1960
The year was 1960 and those of us who are part of the H-2 history began or ended our personal saga “On the Rock” some part of that year.
That was 50 years ago. (Hard to believe, but true.)
Whether you arrived or left sometime during 1960, it’s a 50-year milestone.
Many of the H-2 gang will be getting together for a mini-reunion May 16-18 this year in Atlantic City. Everyone is welcome.
We have made contact with the Harrah's Showboat, on the Boardwalk.
Rates are $68 per night plus 14% room tax and a $10 per night room fee, which is available to our group through April 16.
The Sales Reservation Number 1-800-345-7253 between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday thru Friday to make their reservations before April 16 and reference the “FERRARO REUNION.”
Any reservation made after April 16 will be on a space available basis at the then current price. Cancellations is 48 hours prior to arrival. No-shows will be billed one nights room and tax.
When you make your reservation, please RSVP to Joe Ferraro (jmf804@hotmail.com)
Hope to see a large crowd to relive the H-2 story.

Air Defense Galaxy of Stars

AIR DEFENSE GALAXY OF STARS
The Peterson Air and Space Museum at Peterson AFB, Colorado, has established an Air Defense Galaxy of Stars to honor and commemorate the hundreds of thousands of United States and Canadian military personnel who manned the air defense facilities of our Nations.
During the existence of the Air/Aerospace Defense Command from 1946, until its disestablishment in 1980, ground environment units, fighter interceptor squadrons, airborne early warning and airborne warning and control units, and missile units manned the outposts of air defense from coast to coast and from the shores of the Caribbean to the shores of the Arctic Ocean. Supplementing their efforts were personnel of Army Air Defense Command and Navy picket ship and fighter units.
All those dedicated men and women earned a place in our country's history as they assured the air defense of a continent during the long days and nights of the Cold War. Many such units were in places very few would willingly want to call home; nevertheless they served, they watched, they waited, and they made our skies safe for the citizens of our nation and Canada.
Now, they will be recognized and remembered as the Air Defense Galaxy of Stars becomes a living memorial to each and every one of them.
To become a member of the Galaxy of Stars any military member of the United States Air Force, Army, Navy or Marines as well as Canadian Forces personnel who ever served in an air defense unit are invited to become honorees in the following manner:
1. Provide a clearly identifiable photograph, in an authorized uniform - said photograph to be no larger than 5" X 7" (up to six photographs may be submitted);
2. Provide full name, branch of service, and highest rank attained;
3. Provide unit designation and location of one or all air defense units in which service was rendered;
4. Provide job title, AFSC, or MOS;
5. Inclose $5.00 per submission to offset costs;
6. All submissions will be displayed on the Museum website (www.petemuseum.org);
7. Submit to: Galaxy of Stars, Peterson Air and Space Museum, 150 East Ent Avenue, Peterson AFB, CO 80914
